We have all heard of scary things under our bed, or demands out to possess us, but that is all fake right? Like our parents always tell us, “ It is just fake ,none of it’s real.” I know we have all had that thought in our head,” what if my mom is not telling the truth.” Well what if a demand could make us do the things it wants us to do. This is a frightening thing we never think about. We have all come to the conclusion that our mom was right…. Until 1692. The Salem Witch trials. The thing they all had in common was that ,they were all once innocent people gone bad. Tituba was one of the witches who happened to be a slave at the time. When Tituba was asked, she claimed that the devil had come and told her to serve him. She described very crazy pictures of black dogs, red cats , yellow birds and a “black man” who wanted her to write her name on his book. She confessed that she wrote her name on the book and said there where more people looking to destruct the Puritans. Bridget Bishop was another one of the people assumed for the witchcraft. When questioned if she had used witchcraft, Bishop responded, “ I am as innocent as the child unborn.” This must have been seen as a excuse , because she was found guilty and, on June 10 , became the first human being to be hung on what was later named Gallows Hill. Later Governor Phipps’s wife was assumed for the witchcraft. Governor Phipps, in response to Mather’s beg and his own wife being thought of for witchcraft, banned farther imprisonments , let go many thought to be witches and disappeared the Court of Oyer and Terminer on October 29. Phipps replaced it with a Superior Court of Judicature, which rejected suggested evidence and only convicted 3 out of 56 defendants(“Brief
