The Salem witch trials started in 1692 in Salem village, Massachusetts and resulted in many deaths. Fear was a common feeling at this time in Salem. It all starts with a little girl getting sick and all of a sudden many victims were in danger. The Salem witch trials had a very agonizing effect and consist of false possession, devil worship, and false accusation. False possession that was caused by the girls who were supposedly possessed by witches feared the townspeople. People were afraid more people would become possessed so they felt they needed to find and destroy the source. Everyone was scared thinking that witches were roaming around and they wanted to do something about it so they started thinking of people who could be working for the devil. Nobody knows of other possible diseases that could have been possible causing the “possession” so they concluded to witches. Since there was a war going on less than 70 miles away people believed that the devil was near.
