Upon having received my acceptance letter from Salisbury University, I immediately began to contemplate the inevitable future, including my educational goals. Admittance into the college was the first step, but I felt as though I needed to further expand. Through research, I discovered the Bellavance Honors Program, and realized membership would be the perfect match for me. After scrolling through the various informational sections, I found scholarships, courses, and other benefits not otherwise available to regular students. Moreover, I would be allowed the opportunity to enhance my degree, increasing my marketability to prospective employers. Meeting other prospective Nursing students within the Honors College would keep me aligned with my end objection, while also implementing some friendly competition. Furthermore, engaging in conversation with current Nursing students could give me insight into the program’s offerings as well as the difficulty of the curriculum. Having completed my CNA/GNA and CCMA certification by the end of senior year, I will already have a basis of knowledge for the skills required to work in a healthcare facility. During clinical hours, I was able to work alongside elderly residents, instilling a sense of compassion for their care routine and empathy for their circumstances. Originally upon entering the Nursing Home, I was slightly skeptical of my decision to pursue this particular career path. However, after bonding with the residents and learning about their backgrounds, I found a love in caring for those who are in need. I also uncovered a newfound confidence within myself to be able to effectively manage necessary work, while maintaining quality of
