Sam did wrong leaving his family and his home for a silly war. Sam betrayed his family leaving. He was pronounced a trader. Plus, he let death follow his absence. Life did the right thing trying to get Sam to stay. Sam hurt his family in more ways than one. He did a very bad thing.

Sam’s family needed him at home. First of all, Sam left his little brother, Tim, to do all his his chores plus his own. The book said, “Sam and I used to look after the animals, but after he went to college I had to do it all by myself.” That was a lot of chores to do for Tim by himself. He hated it. Sams died because of the war. “It’s just so unfair, he fought for them for three wars, and now they’re going to shoot him for nothing.” said his brother Tim. Sam could have prevented Life from being captured and killed by a disease. “I’d never been on so long a trip in my life. Sam used to go to help father, and after Sam went off to college Father got Tom Warrups to go with him. But Tom was busy, and so this time Father had to take me.” that’s what Tim was thinking before him and his father left to go on a trip. On their way home from that trip, their father got captured by the British and got put on a prison ship. On the ship their father got a disease and died. Before Sam left home, he and his father had an argument. During the argument, Life admitted that he didn’t want Sam to die. “Do you think I want to hear a wagon draw up one summer’s morning and go out to find you stiff and bloody and your eye’s staring blankly at the sky? Sam, it isn’t worth it. Now take off that uniform and go back to your studies.” Sam hurt his brother and their Mother. He killed his father and himself. Sam did a horrid thing
