The word Yajna means sacrifice and the word Homa which means rituals are based on Sanskrit. In Buddhist literature, Sanskrit is the major language used by Indian Mahayana and the Mahayana Sutras were also constructed in Indian Sanskrit. In Jainism literature, many languages including Sanskrit were there. Sanskrit is also use in Sikhism scripture in Guru Nanak, Guru Arjan and others too. In Thailand, most of the Thai words that we use have roots from Sanskrit. The word peace in Thai which is Santi is the same as the word peace (Santi) in Sanskrit. This is because Thai language loans lots of the words from Sanskrit and most of them are very similar to each other. You might have heard of the word Guru often, it simply means teacher, also in Thai the word Kru means teacher as well. You can see that the words in these two languages are so similar that they sometimes pronounce in the same way. The word Phayu in Thai and Vayu in Sanskrit both means storm, it is so similar that when you heard it you think of another word with the same meaning right away.
