How would you talk about a serious issue? Some may show statistics or facts to bring up problems. Others can use video representation or presentations to prove their point to make people aware of issues. Although there are many ways to bring up serious problems and issues, a lot of people use Satire to bring up problems in our society and world. Satire is taking problems and using comedy or irony to make people aware of issues. Although, it is not a good idea to use Satire because the problems will not be taken seriously, and some people while bringing up the issue can be too critical and it makes people not listen.
Satire is not taken seriously. The definition of Satire is to bring up a serious problem in a funny way. They use parody or irony and it makes people laugh. Most of the time using Satire for serious issues in our society doesn’t have a powerful impact. The reason for this is because of the comedy aspect, it makes people laugh instead of actually thinking of how wrong the world is. Satire does however inspire some people but it usually inspires the wrong audience. It can make people think about issues but they think that you are trying to say something else when you’re not. People use satire to make fun of serious problems which can come across crass and all around rude especially when some people are very passionate about that said problem. Having said that, those who are passionate about the problem you’re talking about can be very offended when using Satire because you use sharp words that can cut the problem down instead of fixing it. Sometimes, when using Satire people can be too biased on the issue and it ends up making people not listen to them. When bringing up issues you have to remain unbiased so everyone can work together to create a solution to the issue you are
