I think Moliere’s Tartuffe is less effective satire because it not a serious subject. Tartuffe is a comedy which entertains the audience and brings laughter and joy into their life. In comedic, there is always a happy ending and nothing is taken seriously. For instance, Tartuffe ends up getting arrested for prior incidents in which he tries to steal Orgon’ s house in the story. In addition, Tartuffe is less effective to draw the audience’s attention than the way A Modest Proposal did because the audience often does not pay attention to the main information from comedies. As a result, they may not realize the main purpose for Moliere writing
