Who would object to experience that? With this in mind, having great promise, teenagers and young adults are the ones who are highly prone to be influenced by the drug trend.
Coming from a different country to the United States has made me look at some divergences from a critical point of view, specifically the use of drugs, both as medication and substance. As it explains, a drug could be either a substance used in pharmaceutics or an illicit narcotic having effects as an addiction and tendency to change person's perception of the realm. Basically, our brain is made up of billions of neurons and nerve cells that integrate with one another by sending and passing signals. When interfering with our body, drugs could have multiple ways of affecting our nervous system. Some substances, marijuana and heroin, for example, might activate neurons by mimicking natural cells whilst other drugs as cocaine or amphetamine have an adverse outcome by producing atypical chemicals in the brain (Chloe). The method that has taken people's attention is a Family Intervention Program. Two higher institutions in the Netherlands, Trimbos Institute and Behavioral Science Institute at Radboud University, have conducted an analysis of all studies published during 1999-2013 period. To be more accurate, 532 articles were researched and, by excluding irrelevant for the study, 39 were left for an upcoming data extraction. In this research, two distinct types of family therapies were found: Universal Family Programs and Selective and Indicated Family Programs. The first method, aimed towards 10-14-year olds and their parents, indicated a small effectiveness of family intervention; however, this method showed more efficiency in marijuana use prevention only, since there was no clear evidence on deterring the use of other illicit drugs except marijuana. The second program was targeted towards adolescents in high-risk groups. Given the fact these groups of teenagers have additional and more complicated behavioral issues to deal with, they are in need of a more delicate and profound approach. Consequently, as long as there was some discordance in the data, the study has not offered any signs of the effectiveness of Selective Family Programs either.
