Imagine walking across the stage at a high school graduation, and students are excited and elated. They not thinking about what comes next, but they need to because what comes next might shape their future. Some kids don’t try in school, and the kids that do will most likely become successful in their life and their profession. College can help people become successful by teaching them about what the adult world is like. People might not be able to receive scholarships or grants from colleges if they don’t apply for them. First of all, with a grant or scholarship the college gives high school students money, and they don’t have to give it back(Mooney pg 13). Scholarships are really helpful if people want to save money and some stress. Colleges often award their scholarships based on merit (Mooney pg 16). If people want scholarships they will have to behave and be worthy of it. Also, to keep scholarships; students most likely have to keep a good GPA while they are in college (Mooney pg. 19). While students are in college; they will have to keep up with their grades if they want to retain their scholarships. Although, people might not be able to get a job when you are out of college. With a college education people can have a well rounded learning experience about a certain degree (Roth). If students work on their major they can learn a lot about that field, and get a job in that field. College graduates can draw on one’s college education over a lifetime and during their career (Roth). Most people will recall their knowledge they received from college in their profession. Secondary education helps people discover what they like to do and what they are good at (Roth). If people discover what they are good at; they will enjoy it more, and will have fun doing that thing.
