During my high school career I have made a consistent effort to stay involved in both my school and community. Through clubs such as Key Club, National Art Honor Society, and National Honor Society I’ve been able to help out locally and globally in an abundance of ways. In Key club and NHS I am able to volunteer in traditional ways, but National Arts Honors Society allows me to contribute to my community and school in a creative way that stimulates people 's minds through art. Due to these activities having a significant impact on my life my future career options are based around what I have learned from them.
I am highly honored to be among the meritorious students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization does great things in society, and that I can play a part in furthering the impact that it has made. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students with outstanding grades and admirable characters. I choose challenging courses every year.
It is an honor for me to be invited to join such an exclusive society of distinguished people. I am excited about being part of the National Honor Society in view of the limitless opportunities and the strong support system it represents for me. I consider myself a scholar, by reason of the fact that I thrive to excel in my academics and accomplish my best in any achievable way. Through my years as a student I have worked on helping my classmates and my community in any way I possibly can. By offering equine therapy to participating in the climate reality project I have demonstrated leadership and service to my community.
The first year, the Science National Honor Society inducted eight students, including myself. As the first President of the Society, my officers and I developed a weekly peer tutoring schedule in the four main science courses offered at our school, a yearly engineer-off (a competition where students are tasked to produce a specific model and compete to see whose design is the most creative and efficient at the assigned task), and sponsored events for teachers to demonstrate engaging science experiments to students. Additionally, all the officers designed presentations pertaining to various scientific careers, and inspired members to explore further into STEM related
March 15, 2023 Dear National Honor Society Chapter and Faculty Council, When I was six, I refused to eat pizza with my hands at the risk of appearing “unprofessional” to prospective employers. When I was 12, I took my first practice SAT test on CollegeBoard, calculating anticipated growth to compare against prestigious colleges. When I transitioned to high school, I fixated on the future, weighing extracurriculars primarily for their contributions to my resume. Surrounded by a high-achieving and competitive culture, application to the National Honors Society seems obligatory. However, as I’ve matured, through engagement with Fairview and the organization, I’ve learned that NHS is substantially more than a resume-builder.
National Honor Society is an organization that gives unrecognized students who are talented a chance to show their achievements. I see this program being very helpful to students, including myself, because it highlights our academic and personal accomplishments and provides many opportunities to those who deserve them. I believe the National Honor Society program represents outstanding high school students to colleges in hopes for them to forward their education and become successful. This would be useful to those who cannot afford to enroll in prestigious schools or organizations.
The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
Good morning, I welcome you all here today to the 2015 Science National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. I am honored to been asked to speak and to celebrate this wonderful occasion. I would like to congratulate to the students for being honored today for your achievements in leadership, community service, scholarship, character and your enthusiasm on science which are shown through hardwork and dedication that each of you has displayed. I would also like to congratulate to the parents and families for showing unconditional support, motivation, encouragement and love on these remarkable young people which is why they are here today and continue this way in order to lead them to the path of success. National Junior Honors Society needs people who are hard working, and are ready to get the job done. I should be considered to be in National Junior Honors Society because I show scholarship and leadership, I have done many community service activities, and I show character and citizenship. I have done many activities involving scholarship and leadership. I am in violin, chorus, and other in-school and after school activities. This means I am familiar with other sides of school, and I can share my experiences and try to make them fit into what we do/what is done in NJHS.
National Junior Honor Society is the start of everything. This group helps set me up for my years to come. Being in the NJHS it helps me get into the one in high school, which looks really good one college applications. Having national junior honor society for both middle school and high school would give me a better chance to get into a college I really want to get into. I’ve always wanted to be someone who could help or make a change in this world, instead of just trying to get through life easy.
Being one of the few who is eligible to be chosen for National Honor Society is an honor in itself, I have my teachers and peers to thank for helping me keep a positive attitude and a good character in and out of school. With the constant encouragement that I get from them, my character, scholarship and leadership all keep improving. I am hoping that by being chosen to be in NHS I can add serving the community and helping those in need to my list of improving qualities. Since the ninth grade when I was informed about NHS I was determined to keep my grades up to meet the required GPA, retaking exams when needed and paying close attention in my classes. I strove to be the absolute best I could, keeping my GPA at a 3.7 this school year hoping
It is an honor to be nominated for the National Honor Society. The fact that I was nominated proves to me that all of my hard work and dedication has not been for nothing. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students who strive to achieve their best not only in school but in themselves and the community. I believe that I’m one of those students. Based upon my last two year at Matawan Regional I now have a 3.9 GPA and am ranked in the top 20% of my graduating class.
I believe the efforts we do not make in prior life can be mistakes or setbacks for our future goals. At the time, we may lack knowledge which could help us reach goals that we did not know we wanted in prior years. For me, this goal was to be a member of the Incarnate Word High School National Honor Society. I met all but one of the requirements which was to maintain an average of 94 or higher. As a freshman, I thought this was out of reach for me and pointless to work toward so I decided to put NHS out of my sight.
To be in National Junior Honor Society you have to have good character, citizenship,service, and leadership. First, I have good character. I take criticism willingly, and I also welcome recommendations. Second, I demonstrate citizenship well. Civic involvement is very important, and I have high regard to freedom, justice, and respect for the American form of government.
