The organism that I have chosen is the Sea Wasp, which is a species of Box Jellyfish (Cubozoa). The Sea Wasp is classified by eight different groups within its taxonomy, which are the: domain, kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, and species. The Domain of this specific organism is Eukarya, the kingdom of the organism is Animalia, the phylum of the organism is Cnidaria, the class of the organism is the Cubozoa, the order of the organism is the Chirodropida, the family of the organism is Chirodropidae, the genus of the organism is Chironex, the species name is C. fleckeri, the Scientific name of the organism is Chironex Fleckeri, and the common name of the organism is the Sea Wasp (“Chironex fleckeri Marine Stinger, Sea Wasp”). The problem with identifying this organism is that it’s extremely difficult to see because it blends in very well the water in its habitat. One of the visual characteristics that give the Sea Wasp and other Cubozoa’s their “Box Jellyfish” naming is their shape. Given its name, the bell of the jellyfish in this category appears as a box, with four sides. The bell has four corners and branching off each corner is a pedalium. Each of these pedaliums, is a grouping of tentacles. These groupings can typically contain up to fifteen tentacles and can reach up to 3 meters in length. The Sea Wasp is pale blue and is transparent under water making it extremely difficult to see. They have developed eyes that enable them to see, but are practically invisible to humans within the water (“Sea wasp”). Sea Wasps are found within the deep waters of the ocean, shallow freshwater rivers and shallow mangrove channels. They depend on small fish and crustaceans found within their habitat for food. They can be found twenty-five to forty meters deep in the ocean in their medusa form or off the shallow ends of rivers and channels during their poly form (Currie, B.,
