In 1996, being named as ASCAP 's "Songwriter of the Year" Sean Combs was just starting to make a name for himself. By 1997, Bad Boy Entertainment had sold nearly $100 million in recordings, while making a multimillion-dollar with Arista Records for management of the label. By all accounts, Combs is considered one of the youngest and most successful moguls in Black music. An incident that happened in 2001 at a Hamptons Party, Combs had a major downfall. A fight broke out and bullets rang leaving Combs and his girlfriend Jennifer Lopez facing a weapons charge.
