INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Introduction
K-12 is an education system where the students would be more challenged and they would furnish their own skills in what they like to do (Anonymous, 2012). The senior high school covers the last 2 years of K-12, where the students can learn things that could help them in their college life or in the future. Junior high school students should learn how to make decisions that could help them in the future. Junior high school students in ADIS have their own strengths and weaknesses, and once that the students learn to improve their strengths and diminish their weaknesses; they can be one of the greatest people that lived on earth. According to Melissa, people make choices every day. Moreover, with this theory, this supports this study because junior high school students would choose between the different strands offered in senior high school and they have to evaluate each strand so that they can make the right choice. Even though the specifications for each strand are good, a student should still evaluate it if this is what they this is the best for them. Self-Determination Theory. This theory was introduced by Deci and Ryan. This states that people decide base on external or internal perceived locus causality. This means that external forces as peer pressure can affect the decision of a person or a group and internal forces is similar to what a person likes is what makes your final decision. This theory supports this study because the decision making of students on which strand they will choose is being affected by external factors or internal factors. This theory shows that even the greatest people in the world makes their decisions because of their friend or external forces and internal forces, This only shows that decision-making does not mean that someone must influence a person in order for that person to decide and it does not mean that a person must decide on his or her own. They still have to consider other factors that could change their
