Although Germany had a larger hand in the war escalating, Serbia should also share more, or as much, blame for the start of this war. Serbia was the root of the problem, assassinating the next heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary. It is not unreasonable that Austria- Hungary took action and declared war against Serbia. Sir Richard J. Evans, a professor at the University of Cambridge, had described Serbia as a “disruptive force” in which I agree with.
