FACESS, Freeing Children from Exploitation and Sexual Slavery, is a non-profit organization that works with girls who have been trafficked throughout the US. The facility is hidden away on 250 acres in northern California, surrounded by trees, ponds and mountains. The facility is located in a safe and secluded place where survivors can heal mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The organization is dedicated to taking care of young girls who have been rescued from sex trafficking in the US (FACESS). FACESS was founded in 2010 by Phil Ludwig and Tiffany Morgan. Both of the founders realized how large the problem of sex trafficking had become in America. After seeing the statistics that many facilities only provided short-term care and only to 1% of survivors, Phil and Tiffany decided to start a long-term program for survivors of sex trafficking. She said physically the girls gain weight. This is because for many of the girls, while being in the life, they never were able to eat full meals. Sometimes they would not know when there next meal would be. How the girls change mentally depends on what they gain from the program. If they put the effort in and really try, there will be a change mentally. Emotionally the girls are better able to cope with their emotions. They learn how to express their emotions without throwing tantrums and finding better outlets to express things such as anger. Lastly, Stacy said that most of the girls find Christ while at FACESS. She believes that each girl walks away with “a piece of Jesus.” When the girls leave, Stacy will try to touch base with them every once in a while.
