Thanks to the internet, we enjoy countless innovations, including the word "lulz", which is derived from an abbreviation for "laugh out loud". "Lulz" is a versatile word which can be used as an exclamation (eg. lulz!), or noun (eg. "She farted in the elevator for lulz.")

For this and countless other reasons, the internet is a horrible and wonderful creation; revolutionary in ways we can 't even fully comprehend. The central character is a kid named Justin... a 20-something kid with a tough life. Seeking a sense of purpose, Justin joins a group of people online who are dedicated to finding and stopping someone online who posts videos of himself torturing cats. After repeated failures by law enforcement, justin and a few of his fellow sleuths decide to take matters into their own hands. they find the the cat killer. and execute him. the cat killer 's identity and the circumstances of his execution are revealed via flashback in the pilot and later episodes.

season 1 follows the aftermath of the execution, as justin and his accomplices try to keep their identities secret from authorities, as well as online "haters" who are hellbent on exposing them.

we get to know justin and his accomplices -- a housewife, a retired cop, a social worker, and others. we watch them struggle with what they 've done. a few of them tell their spouses. one of them confesses to authorities. but unlike the others, justin feels little remorse. in fact, he wants to continue hunting psychos and scumbags, for the good of humankind and for the
