The howl pierced the air and the shrieks of men and women joined it. There was a chill in the air as snow covered the ground and the sun began to set. We all stood together in awe of the beautiful and dangerous creature that was in front of us. One of the elders in the town stood clutching the town bible along with a stake ready in case the beast attacked so we would be protected.
