As Gabriel was being deported from California and heading back to Mexico he couldn't help but think of all of his friends he didn't get to say goodbye to. Gabriel knew he would miss all of his new friends including Panchito, but he was excited to go back and see his family again. Although they didn't have any money to spend, they treasured their time together because of so much danger surrounding them.

Every night Gabriel and his family would pray together, hoping that one day they could live a happier and safer life together. They prayed for whole month, and then they found out that they won the lottery. They were shocked and thought it was a joke but it was real 100%. They set half of the money aside to save for school and home, the other half they used to go to America legally. They kept praying every night even though they had won the lottery. …show more content…

They didn't have to worry about being caught by the border control or anything, they were able to be in a safe place to liv and stay. Gabriel bought a house for his family to live in because they knew they were gonna need the space for the new arrival. Everyone was excited for the new baby except the youngest child, Eliza.

Eliza liked having all the attention, now that there was a new arrival she knew she would have to fight to get it back. As her father worked hard long days to earn money for the family Eliza pondered why people don't get treated the same. She new that being the youngest she would get most attention unlike her older brother, it was like Mexican and American people... neither of them were treated with same amount of love and respect. After thinking of this idea for over an hour she had decided not to hate on her future baby brother, but to treat him with same amount respect and love like a caring human
