Taylor was always picture pretty, the best dressed, and rarely ever went a day without getting a compliment on her beautiful teeth. Her teeth were the most important thing in her life is what it seemed like it. She carried an extra toothbrush, breathe spray, and a mini box of floss in her purse. You would think her dentist was her best friend but that was not the case. He was her worst enemy. She took magnificent care of her pearly whites to simply avoid the dentist. One afternoon Taylor felt a gut wrenching pain shoot through the back of her jaw. She didn’t think anything of it. She ran down stairs frightened and screamed “Mom something is wrong with my mouth!” with one glance to the rear of her mouth her mother said “Looks like your wisdom teeth are growing in” and then suggested a dentist appointment. Frightened and shaking Taylor feels her stomach hit rock bottom. “What’s the worst that could happen if we don’t go to the dentist?” Taylor questioned. “Well the pain is unbearable if your wisdom teeth don’t fit correctly in your mouth, and your teeth could shift and get messed up”. The knot in Taylor’s throat grew bigger. It was obvious to her that the dentist visit was a must. Her mother called the office and was surprised to hear that Taylor could be seen later that day. “Let’s go Taylor they can see you in a little while” her mom stated. Taylor took her time getting ready because the thought of going there was terrifying. “They’re not going to do anything but look today right?” Taylor asked. With her brain being jammed packed with knowledge on the surgery she didn’t process that today was her big day. Her mom came into her room and rushed her to get ready. Ten minutes later her mother yelled up to her “Taylor lets go before your late!”, the anxiety built up so fast that she couldn’t think straight. She jumped into the car and was on her way. Arriving to the dentist office she couldn’t think about anything except of all the bad possibilities that could happen. She walked in, signed her name, and took a seat as far away from the backroom door as possible. She seen the window that her dentist grabbed someone’s paper work and was ready to make an announcement for someone to come to the back. She knew deep down it was going to be her. The door opened and Taylor’s toes instantly curled up and the worse happened. “Taylor?” said the dentist. She stood up and walked over to him and he put his hand out for a shake, she broke her hands apart and felt the breeze hit her palm from her hands being so clammy from the anxiety.
