Rosa spent the days that followed praying and reading. Every morning at the bells of nine she went to the chapel, and read her book until the bells of ten called her to dinner. She would pray again afterwards before bed. The beast seldom bothered her outside of the dining room. It was always hunting, leaving Rosa free to read to herself in the study. The Blossom, the agent by which lovers show affection. The Rossignol, named for Enoa’s earthly lover, who sings his song at twilight. Rosa flipped to the history section again and found a picture spread out across two pages titled “Map of the Known World.” It wasn’t very complex, as most maps were back on Earth. It seemed more of a work of art than anything else, with the coat of arms of each nation scattered across the pages. Linmar was lion and two swords, encompassing the snowy area around the north pole. Feyena was on the eastern continent, and was a mermaid holding a bird in her hands. Almeria was on the southernmost peninsula of the East and was a bull and a harp. Nox was just a full moon, taking up lots of territory in the West. There were many other sigils, along with the one of Gardenia, which the map showed to be in the south of the western continent. Its symbol was an apple between a wreath of roses. She had an idea then. If she could match one of the coat of arms in the book to one of the symbols on the shields all over the castle, she might be able to figure out where this castle was originally from. Before closing the book, she took one long look at the peninsula where Gardenia was situated. It had the most towers and castles of any one nation, and railroads even.
