Anyways, another name for The Intolerable Acts was “Coercive Acts”. Since the Boston Tea Party occurred Parliament was absolutely tired of the colonists actions towards these acts. The British was able to put up with certain actions, but the destruction of 342 chest of tea that belonged to the British East Indies Company twas absolutely intolerable.

Great Britain lost a large amount of money because of the colonies during this event, and in the end they lost the Colonies. The Colonists were punished for wasting Great Britain’s money, so they decided to fight back. The Boston Tea Party also caused a war and earned the Colonies their freedom.
To start off, the Boston tea party was one of the causes of the American Revolution But before we get into the Boston tea party, we have to know a few things about the French and Indian War. Basically Britain and France fight a war for control over North America from 1756 to 1763. Britain wins, however they went into a big amount of debt fighting in it. After the war, the government of the British decided that the American colonist had to help pay that debt.
Although there are many reasons why the American Revolution started, a few of them had a larger consequence. First, the Boston Massacre had a major impact on the American Revolution. To continue, another instigator to the colonists seeking their independence was the Boston Tea Party. Lastly, The Battles of Lexington and Concord really pushed towards the American Revolution. The riot began when about 50 citizens attacked a British sentinel. A British officer called in additional soldiers, and they too were attacked, so the soldiers fired into the mob, killing 5. The Boston Tea Party began with the Tea Act that past in Boston. The law prevented the colonists from buying tea from other tea shops and that tea was more expensive than the others.

The Boston tea party was a result of The Stamp Act, The Currency Act, and The Tea Act. Since Great Passed these three laws it angered many of the colonist and resulted in The Boston Tea Party. The Currency Act was the first of many new laws that Great Britain had created that the many of the colonist angry. The Currency Act was a law the prohibited American colonist from using there own American money to buy goods from England.
In 2010 Election, the rise of the Tea Party started to gain momentum in Washington D.C.. The Tea Party is on the more conservative side of the spectrum and are apart of the Republican Party. In the House of Representatives, the Republican Party gained 63 seats, giving them a total of 242 seats, which gives them the ability to control the House (New York Times). This started the long journey of Obama having a divided government. In hindsight, this had a long toll on Obama since he wasn’t able to get much done during his second term in office.
The Texas tea party had come into founding after 9/11/2001, when the patriotism of our country was at an all-time high. It said that many people still debate on who actually formed the tea party, since the birth of the tea party still remains a mystery. Many have come forward to obtain credit for this movement, but the different versions of the movement have led to no conclusion. The history of the modern tea party movement has been short, but remains active till this day.
It showed that the citizens are the ones with the power instead of the government and that the government must listen to their needs. One good source to find information about the Boston Tea Party would be the book Defiance of the Patriots which goes into detail about the events and is written by Benjamin L. Carp who is a graduate of the University of Virginia and a history professor at Brooklyn College. This book would give a lot of insight into the Boston Tea Party and a student could use the author’s point of view to enforce their own beliefs about the event. However, another good source that a student could find online is peer reviewed essays or academic articles reviewing the book.
