Stanford Prison Experiment
As I read, watched the videos, and observed the experiment that took place, I realized that any study that has to do with putting someone out of there comfort zone and or their normal state of mind can put humans at risk. Anything that effects someone physically always effects them emotionally and/or psychologically. Also other experiment’s that can put humans at risk are experiment’s that takes someone back to a time of profound thoughts, to a time when they were probably suffering as a child. Taking someone back to the time of innocence can really put humans at risk. In the study the guards treated the prisoners with cruel and unfair punishments which brought the prisoners into a defenseless slave state mindset. What I thought was very harmful to the prisoners were the part where it said that the prisoners cleaned the toilets with their bare hands, that is plainly sick and disturbing. Also the part where the guards left the prisoners urine and feces in the prisoners cell as extra punishment. Those behaviors were taking too far and both could can cause germs, diseases, viral illnesses which is very harmful towards the prisoners, and could even possibly have spread to the guards. …show more content…

I mean in only 6 days the experiment went far, prisoners identified themselves as the number they were given, they became more of a number then the person they known themselves to possibly be, someone with a new identity. This experiment took over board in just a few days, which is crazy. I’m imagining that if the experiment had completed the full two weeks that was planned for the experiment that it probably would have been a sad and failed case. Someone probably would have died in the process, either by suicidal acts, forced cruel punishment or another prisoner taking another prisoner out by anger or something as
