Do Athletes deserve to be overpaid? In our world today many of us watch sporting events. We could be watching our favorite basketball team, our favorite football team, soccer, boxing, hockey and many others. Watching sports is what we do to entertain ourselves. Although we enjoy watching our favorite sport, athletes shouldn’t be overpaid, because there are others who make a higher impact in our world, there are athletes who are seen as role models but in reality are not, and having an athletic skill isn’t more important than having an education. Watching sports has become a very popular way for us to just relax and enjoy ourselves, but athletes shouldn’t be paid so much just for entertainment purposes. There is a lot of budget issues that make it hard on her to provide for her students so she uses her own money which isn’t a lot to provide supplies. She doesn’t just get regular supplies for her students, she buys them food, clothing, toothbrushes, and combs. She even fostered two of her students because they had nowhere else to stay, it was supposed to be for only a few days but she ended up keeping them for six months and she is still fostering them (Doody 1). This just shows us how much of an impact teachers are to students, and how they work so hard to help others even when they don’t have much to give back. Now why shouldn’t our teachers/professors not get paid millions of dollars, when all they do is give back to our community? NBA players and NFL players may only get a few minutes of playing time, but still get paid so much money just because they play a sport. I don’t know about you, but I completely disagree on how this is set up. Furthermore there is also our police force who are taking for granted at times. The police make a vast impact in our world.
