Why shouldn't the drinking age be lowered to 18 Almost everyone can agree that alcohol should not be given to kids or young adults under a certain age.alcohol is a substance that is very dangerous and if you used it incorrectly the consequences can be great in danger to the users or to the ones around them.there’s many reasons why they drinking age should not be lowered from twenty one to eighteen. In 2012 a total of 1,168 children age 14 and younger were killed in a motor vehicle traffic crashes of those those 1,168 fatalities, 239 (20%) occurred in alcohol-impaired driving crashes. There's others that have a opinion that the drinking age should be lowered to 18. Many of this reasons that i am going to talk about being why the drinking age should be lowered to 18. To start with many colleges and universities often argue that the legal drinking age should be 18 because outlawing alcohol consumption in the colleges for those under 21 has caused many serious problems in many campuses. These colleges and universities say that allowing alcohol consumption legally might help cut cut down many rapes and deaths of this college students who are binge drinking. If they were to lowered the drinking age from 21 to 18 will irresponsibly allow a greater segment of the population to drink alcohol in bars and nightclubs, which not means safe environments. Seventy-six of bars have sold alcohol to obviously intoxicated people. And about half of the drivers are arrested for driving while intoxicated.
