If an underaged kid is charged with a crime should they be charged as an adult? There are many reasons to say both sides of this argument. I am here to explain why juveniles should be charged as adults. While I think juveniles should be charged as adults I also believe it depends on the crime. These juveniles are less mature and not as smart they still break the law. Even though you can argue that you wone be charged big time unless it was an actual crime. If the kid did anything close to a murder they deserve the same punishment as the adult. But if the kid does commit a crime they should be charged as an adult. “In the 1700s, laws did not distinguish between juveniles and adults within the criminal justice system. According to a PBS Frontline online article, “Child or Adult? A Century Long View,” children as young as seven years of age were charged, tried, and sentenced in adult criminal courts.” I do agree with this. The reason why is that if we let kids off the hook for a crime then it might happen again. The more we moved on in time the less strict this law got. Prosecutors stated that the boy, who was charged with two felonies, would be tried as an adult.” as I said before, juveniles make dumber and not as smart decisions as adults but because they commited an assault crime they deserve the same punishment as everyone else who did this. To elaborate on this some people might want to feel sympathy for kids because they are kids, but these same people do not give sympathy to adults. So because kids get more sympythy than adults this can play a big role in deciding
