Money. Green gold. We can agree it is something we all cherish. But, it doesn't grow on trees, so we have to work for it. Some people hardly work and get paid a lot of money, in some cases more than they need and live in wealth. However, most people work like mules and live below the poverty line with their salary. This isn't right nor is it moral. We question ourselves “Should the federal minimum wage be increased?” We should base this upon whether or not a person can live above the poverty line. So yes, The federal minimum wage should be increased to 15 dollars so that people can work and live above the poverty line. By raising the federal minimum wage we can help lift many families out of poverty. In fact according to the 2nd document, by raising the minimum wage “ 4.5 million Americans will be lifted out of poverty.” Remember that this is quite a substantial number. Also, according to the 2nd document git would give a “Raise to 35 million Americans across the country.” This means that more people would have more money to spend on their families, this leads to happier people and an overall better society. They could be saying this based on their prior knowledge. Read that sentence one more time and emphasize on that it is their knowledge. Their knowledge is not necessarily what is best for this country. This could be the case, however, if everyone that will be employed will be making a suitable amount of money (meaning more people are able to buy the product).
