Why parents are decision not to vaccinate to their children? Specific Purpose: To tell my sophomore students know about 3 reasons why parents are decision not to vaccinate Central Idea: There are three reasons that the parents are decision not to vaccinate Introduction: I know you have many reasons about vaccination, Let me tell you about reasons that the parents are decision not to vaccinate Body I. The side effects of some vaccines to children A. Some children have a high fever and headache after vaccinate B.
Since infants and young children are very vulnerable and lack independence, healthy physical development is dependent on protecting them from outside harms. Vaccines protect not just the child being vaccinated but also other children who may not be vaccinated. Some children cannot receive vaccines due to health conditions, such as child with allergies or a deficient immune system. These children are at risk for catching devastating illnesses when they come in contact with unvaccinated children. When parents have their children vaccinated it is good for the health of both the vaccinated children and other children in the
I believe parents should not have the right to reject vaccinate their children, because these vaccinations help protect children from many different viruses and diseases. I personally know a family friend that believes that her son’s autism is attributed to vaccinations as a young child. The government should have the right to force parents to vaccinate their kids because it protects the child’s health as well as the health of others. Parents should not face jail time for not vaccinating their kids because it is their child and they do have their own rights. All children who attend public or private schools need to have vaccinations to attend schools, so kids who do not have cannot attend school.
Step One: A social and political issue that concerns my core program is if it should be mandatory for all children to be vaccinated. March 23, 2014 The New York Times wrote an article after there was an “outbreak of measles in Manhattan”. Having your child vaccinated is a parents choice, however with more news about outbreaks it is now a concern for public health. When I was younger I remember the school nurse sending me home with notes for my mom telling her that I still needed some vaccinations.
Many people have been brainwashed to think that the only method to keep their children safe and healthy is to get them vaccinated at a hospital. But what they do not know is that most of those dangerous diseases have already been gone for a very long time. And the pharmaceutical companies that are telling them to get their children vaccinated are simply lying to them in order to keep them coming back with the fear that their children will get sick if they do not get their vaccinations. Which leads me to say that parents should have the choice to decide whether or not their children get vaccinations.
As parents, the natural instinct to protect your children will overbear any medical recommendation. However, the choice of not vaccinating your children is selfish to the child as well as others in society. With the proper precautions and research, scheduled vaccinations will have a higher success rate than failure rate. Every parent is entitled to their parental rights in the US, but every person in society is also entitled to their health as well. “The best way to reduce vaccine-preventable diseases is to have highly immune population” (Centers for Disease
There are other ingredients such as sugars, amino acids, and proteins added to vaccines, which act as stabilizers. Preservatives are another ingredient added to prevent bacteria from growing during the manufacture of vaccines. Some people do not have an issue with the ingredients in a vaccine, but where they are made. The vaccines that are viruses are sometimes grown in cells because they provide nutrition the vaccine needs. “Some DTaP/IPV/Hib combination, Hep A/Hep B combination, HepA, MMR, and chickenpox vaccines are cultivated in cells from two fetuses aborted in the 1960s” (“Should Any Vaccines Be Required For Children?” 1).
There has been a vast controversy on the idea of vaccinating children at a young age. Throughout various types of research there have been several pros and cons on this issue. Many individuals believe that vaccinations can either lead to the development of issues such as autism and the development of negative side effects or can be a beneficial asset for children to prevent disease. For children, “by age two, most children will receive almost 30 shots designed to boost a child’s natural defenses against disease” (Maron, 2015).
Some children cannot get vaccinations for various reasons. They are at risk every day because they will not be immune to these diseases if they come across them. Other children may carry the disease, and their parents did not decide to immunize them, giving the helpless, unvaccinated other child no chance to overcome the disease. Polio, for example is one disease that was very prominent in the ‘50s and ‘60s, soon after, a vaccine was created. A 2017 study show that, “Polio does still exist, although polio cases have decreased by over 99% since 1988, from an estimated more than 350,000 cases to 22 reported cases in 2017.
Disease can overthrow a culture and spread like wildfire when not taken precaution against. However, there exists a fierce opposition against the mandate of vaccination by some groups of interest with the existence of adverse effects by vaccination to the human body as a reason. Although vaccination carries some health risks,
Parents who don’t vaccinate their children put them and others at risk because it allows normally preventable disease to continue to spread. Vaccinations have been around since 1796 and have since helped
Many people may think that vaccination is a bad thing, that instead of preventing it causes illness, that is not natural. Natural or not, there are many reasons as to why we should vaccinate us and the younger generation. Most of the time children don’t like vaccination because it hurt, but is the responsibility of a parent to seek the wellbeing of his or her child. Vaccination it’s a preventive measure of various diseases. Unfortunately, things like the anti-vaccination movement, the misinformation on the Internet, and the believe that vaccination causes more damage than is worth, have led our society to think that it’s right not to vaccinate.
Vaccinations When it comes to vaccinations, there are many different opinions on immunizing a child, especially when that child’s parent has a strong like or dislike towards vaccinating. Immunizations have existed for at least a thousand years and as technology advances more, there are new vaccines being designed to help protect our children from contracting contagious and sometimes deadly diseases, such as Bordetella pertussis, polio, and even influenza. For decades, all 50 states have required that parents vaccinate their children against various diseases, including polio and measles, as a prerequisite to enrolling them in public schools (Ciolli, 2008). Enrollment in public school requires up to date vaccinations in order to protect the children and even the adults from contracting and spreading a disease, possibly causing an epidemic.
Modern medicine provides people with the ability to protect themselves from the world’s most fatal diseases. Merely a century ago, it was not uncommon for a child to die as a result of diseases such as polio, pertussis, and tuberculosis. Today, it is highly unlikely for a person to contract these diseases, let alone die from them. However, refusal of vaccinations has been increasing throughout the years due to the anti-vaccination movement. This movement declares mandatory vaccines unconstitutional and vaccinations overall as the cause of autism.
News Flash! Recent outbreaks of what the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) call vaccine-preventable diseases demonstrate the effects of the anti-vaccination movement. “Antivaxxers” as they’ve come to be called, as noticed on this author's Facebook page, are a population of parents who make a conscious decision not to vaccinate their children. The goal of this paper is to shed some light on the Antivaxxers, their arguments for choosing not to vaccinate their children, and research that proves the Antivaxxers’ theories are wrong. After all, vaccines aren’t something to be concerned about, they are proven to be effective.
