Lawmakers should impose restrictions on the amounts of sugar each person ingests. For one it is a matter of national security in the article “Obesity in Young Hobbles Military” the author says “Our country is now waking up to another serious health crisis that has left many military leaders concerned about the future strength of our armed forces. The crisis this time is obesity. Over the last 30 years child obesity rates in this country have tripled, due to too many high-calorie, low-nutrition foods and not enough exercise.” This means that if the tendencies of this generation continues, then the amount of able bodied people serving in the military will be severely diminished as the older generations die off.
Sugary Drinks in Hendrix’s Cafeteria The World Health Organization has called for action against sugary drinks because of the rise in obesity. According to the news release “WHO urges global action to curtail consumption and health impacts of sugary drinks,” the World Health Organization reports that sugary drink consumption is the main reason for the rise of obesity. On Hendrix Campus, there are vending machines filled with sugary drinks in every dorm, in almost every academic building, and in the cafeteria.
That is true, however this argument is weak because there are in fact bigger problems than soda being a health issue. Itś your choice on whether you drink soda or not. It won't do much damage unless it becomes a very consistent thing. Though soda is bad, we have much bigger problems killing people. For example, cigarettes or smoking in general.

Just imagine if you were in the store going to buy some beverages for a party. Then all of a sudden you see warning labels on every drink. How would you feel? Well I would feel very alarmed and not want to buy that product and that is exactly what the warning labels will do. On every food item and drink there are already warning labels.
Schools around the nation ban soda and candy from their campus while other schools allow their students to have candy and soda. Some schools say it’s too unhealthy for their students so they provide just the school food because it’s healthy and nutritious. Other schools do allow their students to drink soda and candy because their students often crave different things instead of just school food. Through my perspectives I say we should not ban soda and candy. I say we shouldn’t ban soda and candy because us students do crave it.
I would always sneak in the “forbidden” candy and cakes in an act of rebellion. This played havoc on my blood sugar, but didn’t stop me from enjoying the treats all my friends were eating. Being a concerned mom, she was just following the doctor’s orders so I got what I needed nutritionally. The Food Industry The food industry is the worldwide diversified industry which has to do with anything relevant with food from food education to marketing but principally the industry produces and or provides food to essentially all people on the planet. The only people who are excluded from the food industry are self-sustaining farmers and hunter-gatherers. It is one of the largest industries in the world and continues to grow because people need food and the population is increasing every day. In America, the food industry possesses such an important role, yet there are so many problems within the industry which is ruining the society as we know it.
Did you know that 60% of adults and one in four children in Australia are overweight or obese, making us one of the most overweight developed nations? Almost half of our population comsumes a sugary drink each day. I believe that it is about time we do something about this. With sugary drinks and weight related health problems closely linked, leading experts from the cancer Council, diabities Australia and the Heart foundation say the sugar tax would be a great solution.
A major reason for regulating sugary drinks is to prevent non-communicable diseases among children. If children consume sugary beverages every day, they may experience symptoms such as: weight gain, poor diet and health and tooth decay in children.
