If you were a person that would make the minimum wage you couldn’t afford basic necessities or housing.
Minimum wage slowly killing people by not getting them enough money to support them. This leads to it slowly kill them because of the minimum wage. People can’t afford basic necessities of life off the minimum wage. People can’t afford a two bedroom apartment even making 15 dollars an hour, but that almost twice the amount of the minimum wage. People can’t afford good housing on this 7.25 minimum wage. What if they a family they can’t afford them having there own bed. There are people that work 93 hours that make minimum wage have to miss meals and needed medicine daily. This means that there aren’t eating the basic nutrition they need. People that make minimum wage have to stick to junk food which some people would love, but that leaves to unhealthy habits. This leads to people want help but can’t afford it. Im we raised the minimum wage it would mean teens would have to work less hours which means more time to study. Which means they will have a greater chance to pass. It would reduce crime and robbery because there would be less reasons to rob. Robbers would have reasons to rob. If we increased the minimum wage to 9 dollars it would lift 300,000 people out of poverty. Picture that 300,000 people is poverty having a house and well paying job and stay that way. In Rawlins, Kansas where rental cost are the lowest for one person would be nine dollars and thirty five cents, but that 2 more dollars than the minimum wage by Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “If the minimum wage in 1968 had simply kept up with inflation, it would be more than $10 today. If it also kept up with the added productivity of American workers since then, it would be more than $21 an hour…” (Doyle,2016) means where rent is low it is still too much for someone living off the minimum wage
