The goal of D-Day was to liberate Europe from Nazi control. The soldiers had to go through the sounds of guns firing, their fellow soldiers getting shot planes flying overhead and Many more horrifying things that traumatize people who fought on D-Day. “D-Day”means the day on which a military operation begins. The term "D-Day" has been used for many different operations, but it is now generally only used to refer to the Allied landings in Normandy on 6 June 1944. D-Day was very crucial to WWII it was definitely the turning point of the war. People always ask why was D-Day important, why it was called “D-Day” and what the battle lead to. Has anyone ever wanted to learn more about D-Day during WW2. D-day was in Normandy, France and was a massacre. The Nazis knew the allies were coming ,but they didn’t know where ,so the forted up all beaches in France. when the allies go to Normandy the Nazis were already expected them to come. Which was really bad that the Nazis knew they were coming ,because it will be harder to win.
It was a day on which Allied Forces invaded Northern France by Means of beach landing. The Battle in Normandy lasted from June 1944 through August 1944, which was about two months. The three forces who formed part of D Day were the Americans, the British, and the Canadian. From all three forces there were about 156, 000 people. In total the forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France’s Normandy region.
Right now a debate is occurring about whether not we should ratify the Constitution. This is an important moment in our country's history because this is the moment where we could unify and become a government or we could disapprove of the Constitution and have troubles between the country. The Articles of Confederation were not very credible because it gave the states too much power; which were too weak. The debts were not getting payed and the country was in great trouble. The Constitution would let the power will lie with the wealthy men, and not give the power to the states to raise money to pay off debt; the country will still remain in debt if we ratify the Constitution.
The official military action was code named, Operation Overlord referring to the Battle of Normandy. Whether it’s because it was easier for newspapers to print and school children to remember, no one knows, but we’ve come to call the invasion of Normandy D-Day. Surprisingly, D-Day actually has little meaning at all. The D could actually have been any other letter in the alphabet. The Diary of Anne Frank is about a young jewish girl named Anne Frank, who has to go into hiding with her family in order to not get caught and taken away by the Nazis in Amsterdam, and while in hiding, records her experiences and thoughts into her diary. Farewell to Manzanar is a book based on a girl named Jeanne Wakatsuki who is seven years old at the time, and gets taken away with her family to Manzanar encampments, as the U.S. government doesn’t want to risk any Japanese Americans possibly giving up information to the Japanese as they are at war with them. Anne Frank and Jeanne Wakatsuki have many similarities and differences throughout their lifetimes on the run from the war.
Anne Frank made a diary about her life in the basement In both the play and diary they celebrated the D-Day invasion. Someone has made a play about their life in the basement, but there were some things left out. There were multiple things missed with the people helping them when they were not in the basement. Also in the book and the play one of the caretakers are engaged. In the book it is this lady named Elli, but in the play there is no woman named Elli.
