This novel is put together strategically; one change would completely change my thoughts about this story. For example, if Joe Castle did not accept Warren Tracey’s apology, the whole point of the second half of the novel would be meaningless. Furthermore, if this were to happen my opinion of Calico Joe would change dramatically. Another example would be changing were the people lived in the novel. The setting for the characters hometowns (other than Joe Castle a.k.a.
For the correctness, I made some changes on few of my sentence-level errors, grammatical mistakes, and punctuations throughout the paper. Also, I have included some
Final draft constitution DBQ Essay The constitution was made in 1787 by George Washington. They created the constitution to help our country, because it does not let any branch of government get too powerful. They created it by America's government and fundamental laws, and guaranteed certain basic rights for its citizens.
Before the U.S. Constitution there was the Articles of Confederation. The document could declare war, negotiate treaties, and control foreign affairs. It couldn’t enforce laws, tax, and raise its own army. What the Articles Of Confederation lacked was a strong central government. Alexander Hamilton called for a constitutional convention in 1786, and it took place in Philadelphia on May 14, 1787.
The first timed writing assignment was to discuss the differences between the novel and the movie, Into the Wild, by John Krakauer. In retrospect, my essay would have been more effective if I clearly identified one element in detail about why the change in narrator impacted the story. The use of examples would have strengthened my argument and allowed me to stay on point with the prompt. I also think that a compare and contrast paragraph would have helped my essay. For example, comparisons could have been made between other written works and films.
And by the very nature of writing – the structure of the piece, the selection of facts – they introduce bias into the article. They can minimise that bias by including all relevant facts and by removing the author from the article, or as McPhee put it, “to the extent that this is all about you, leave that out” (McPhee, The New Yorker). One example of this occurs in “The Hunting of Billie Holiday,” where, despite the superficial impartiality of the article, the author obviously structured his work to drive a narrative. Upon finishing the article, the reader feels sympathetic to Miss Holiday’s woes because of how Hari chose to end the article: with her death and with the FBN’s
The 14th Amendment was one of the most significant changes to the Constitution. The amendment contains the equal protection of the laws clause. It was added to the Constitution after the Civil War. The rules that the amendment states have been the result of several Supreme Court cases. The amendment has deeply influenced American History and the perception of equality.
. Primarily, in unit 3 we will be talking about the disagreements between the north and the south at the convention, what parts of the constitution are the result of compromises that settles disagreements between the Northern and the southern states and why we think the the framers should have made these compromises. All of these topics are about the Northern and Southern states. There was a lot of conflict of conflict between the Northern and Southern states, but the framers did find a way to solve these problems.
The first 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution are collectively known as the Bill of Rights. Largely the product of James Madison, the 10 amendments officially became part of the Constitution in 1791, after being approved by Congress in its initial session in 1789. Initially, 12 amendments were adopted by Congress and sent to the states for ratification or rejection; the first two amendments were not approved, thus leaving the 10 amendments as we know them today. Madison 's speech in the U.S. House of Representatives on June 8, 1789, in which he argued persuasively for the insertion of a document to the Constitution that would protect "the great rights of mankind," still stands today as one of the most consequential speeches in the annals
My grammar has improved because in my first essay there are several verb tense errors, but in my third essay there are no errors. Another way my grammar has changed is that my vocabulary has improved. In my earlier essays, there would be simple words, but in my fourth essay there are more complex words like ‘deranged’ and other words. My punctuation has improved because in my first and second essay there are a lot of comma errors because I either put or forgot to put a comma in a sentence, but in my third essay there are fewer comma errors. Lastly, my words usage has changed because in my Frankenstein and first essay there are words like ‘society, things, they, and you’ that isn’t in my fourth
Why was the Constitution a controversial document even as it was being written? Established in 1787 The Constitution was a controversial document because it was a document that could both solve the nation’s hardships and warped the Republican foundation. The Constitution on one hand would give the people a voice and the other would control the nation through a monarchy system. One of the controversies that arose from the creation of the Constitution was the question of management of commerce.
The Founding Fathers offered a proposal for a new Constitution. Amending the Constitution grew in discussion to meet or agree on impending changes. The ratification of the Constitution was needed in order to administer the use of limited powers properly, involving wise decisions for both the government and the people. The new constitution was to serve as the basis to the government. “That we have it in our power one of the most respectable Nations upon Earth, admits, in my humble opinion, of no doubt; if we would but pursue a wise, just, and liberal policy towards one another...
The Pale Orc was added to tell more about Thorin's past, and to give the audience a reocurring protagonist to root against. The Eagle Rescue scene was changed so Thorin would gain respect for Bilbo, and so Bilbo could break down the barrier of being a coward, and become the hero. To me these are too of the biggest changes between the book and the
Two changes I would make in the constitution both fall into the second article. This is the article concerning the presidential election process and duties. While other articles could of course be modified in some way or another, I find that the two changes I came up with could be agreed with by almost everyone. I tried to make these decision not based on how I feel about politics and my beliefs, but instead I made my decisions based on what is best for everybody. I wanted to put my political affiliation aside for this question because in the grand scheme of things what I will suggest are things that could legitimately be addressed without too much complication.
In the article “Shitty First Drafts” by Anne Lemott she discusses how every writer has difficulty putting their ideas on paper because writing should be seen as a process that even the best and famous writers follow. She also talks about how even the best writers don’t just come with ideas and just begin writing on paper and make it as their final draft. Lemott also points out the importance of being able to just write down every thought into the first draft regardless of the structure of the draft and how it makes it easier to start the second draft. After writing the second draft it makes the final draft a review of punctuation and grammar corrections. As a food reviewer she struggled putting her ideas together because she would start doubting
