INTRODUCTION
Silent Spring is a book that arouses the recent environmental movement; the book is known to be an environmental text which can influence the world positively. Carson was known as a witness for nature, relevant for the planet to survive in the 22nd century.
The review is meant to address some in our community where using pesticides/ insecticides like DDT cause destruction of wildlife, agricultural products, birds, animals e.t.c and as well human being. Carson Silent Spring explained how human affects nature by their improper use of pesticides especially DDT (Dichloro-Diphenyl-Trichlro-ethene). Rachael Carson described how insecticides seriously affect the cellular process of plants, animals and human. The book vividly explained how pesticides contaminate the soil, water, birds and vegetation. Carson believes that there is a detrimental long term effect of these chemicals to the existence of human being. Rachael Carson an environmentalist critically examines the dangerous balance of nature and the negative effect on the environment. She mentioned further on the topic regarding human instinct to control the environment in any way possible.
Silent Spring contains a fable for the future, a true story which explains how the use of DDT has caused serious damage to the species of animals and human. This fable made a valuable impression on readers and some critics charged that Rachael Carson is not a scientist but rather a fiction writer.

Due to this vindication, DDT was closely monitored by the Government and was banned eventually.

Conclusion
Silent Spring as on doubt exposed the detrimental effect of DDT which lead to the death of so many birds and other species. Carson was very much concerned about the future of the planet as well as every human on earth, she therefore beckoned on human to act as stewards of the earth and be more responsible to nature.
Although the legacy of the Silent Spring was to create awareness that nature is endangered to human intervention. Carson idea was radical in that sometimes new technology is at odds with natural process that it necessary to be reduced. The threat to nature Carson outlined is about how the food chain is contaminated; the emergence of cancer and the death of many species were issues to be frightened about. Carson story was a needed change to monitor the industry in a way to protect the environment and thus gave birth to a new environmentalism.
