People wanted to prove that the man was an animal, so they put him in a chicken coop. He was also doubted by the people, despite his power. The people set expectations for what they thought the man should be. Some thought that he should become the “mayor of the world.” Others believed “that he should be promoted to the rank of five-star general in order to win all wars.” The people were only trying to use the old man for their personal needs. Pelayo and Elisenda used the supernatural creature to make profit. They charged people a fee to see the old man. When the old man finally learned to fly and flee, no one cared that he was gone. The man was no longer anyone’s
