Almost everybody learned about ancient Rome in school. So most people also know that Ancient Rome and the modern U.S have many similarities and differences in the architecture, government, entertainment, etc. Because the modern U.S and Ancient Rome have many similarities and differences, the lessons from Ancient Rome Could help the U.S to avoid the fall and collapse that Rome experienced.
Of the many similarities between Ancient Rome and modern U.S, three of them are, we both have large entertainment venues, we both have our military spread across the world, and we have similar architecture. The second thing that we should learn from the romans not to do is, not focus on spending money on things that we need. In Ancient Rome, almost all of the rulers spent a lot of Rome’s money on monuments for themselves, entertainment venues, and other things that they did not need while many people were on the streets dying of sicknesses or hunger. We should learn from this and not spend most of our money on things that we don't really need such as a new recreation center or a park, but on helping people who need help, and on repairing roads and bridges that are old and dangerous. The last thing that we should learn from Ancient Rome not to do is, overexpansion. One of the biggest parts of why Ancient Rome went corrupt was overexpansion.
