Corporate Identity Religion and Corporate Identity was not a common thing in the beginning of religious institutions, but as our culture moves into an industry that values money higher than faith, religion had to follow too. No longer is being a part of a religious institution just giving your soul, you now must reach deep inside your pocket. No matter what religion you are in, you will feel obligated to give money. Not only is religion more money focuses, it has also bled it’s values into businesses around the world. In this paper, I will discuss how Christianity, Islam, and Scientology are being conducted as a business.
Christianity
Christianity, the world’s biggest religions, is believed to have over 2.2 billion people who affiliate themselves with it. (Chappell, 2015). With so many followers or members of Christianity, the religion alone is thought to make more than $2.66 trillion in tithing each year (“21 Fascinating Tithing Statistics,” 2014). The Islamic Industry is estimated to have $1.6 trillion in assets. Muslims are found all over the world but mostly in sub-Saharan Africa, Indonesia, South Asia, and the Middle East. As a result Muslims actually control oil found in the Middle East and some of the riches countries are in the world are ruled by strict Islamic laws (Said, 2013). Not only to Muslims rule a lot of counties, the members of Islam also follow a stritch rule of Zakat.. Zakat is the third pillar of Islam, it is the rule that says you must give 2.5% of one’s wealth each year to benefit the poor. This processes helps people understand that all things come from God, that Muslims are not rich or poor because of their own doing but Gods, and allows one to be freed from the love of possessions and greed (‘Zakat: Charity,’ 2009)
