The Federalist and Republican parties, first formed in 1790. Did you know our first political party was Federalist and Democrat/Republican. Another fun fact, George Washington was the only president to never declare a party affiliation because they didn’t exist when he was elected into office. The formation of political parties caused United States of America to split. Despite bearing some minor similarities, the differences between Federalist and Democratic/Republicans are clear.

Both parties existed in the role of national government. They are very similar in many ways let me tell you how they are similar. Federalist and Democrats/Republicans both have the same goal free republic. They also have Smooth running government, both parties existed in the role of national government, they both had something to deal with Jay’s Treaty. Federal government strong and the Democrats has a weak government. Federalist wanted wealthy and educated people and the Democrats wanted ordinary people. Federalist wanted strong national government and the Democrats wanted state banks. Federalist were Pro-British and the Democrats were Pro-French. Federalist loose interpretation constitution and the Democrats were strict interpretation constitution. Federalist were very selfish they only cared about the rich and the Democrats were good people they cared about the rich and poor people. Federalist industrial economy was manufacturing and the Democrats economy was farming. Federalist their main help was the wealthy people the Democrats main help was the debtors. Finally the Federalist support came from the northern states and the Democratic/Republicans support came from the southern
