Loyalty and Trust

Introduction-
Loyalty and trust have a major effect on both of the story lines from Shakespeare's famous Hamlet and Disney's, The Lion King. As each story unravels the audience gathers more of an understanding of the characters and their actions towards one another. Main themes

Paragraph 1- Loyalty

Similarity-

The definition of loyalty is someone who gives or shows firm and constant support or allegiance to another person (Oxforddictionaries.com, 2015). Both Hamlet and Simba convey this value, specifically towards their fathers. They share a special bond with each other, however it was Simba who shared a really strong bond with Mufasa. Random ideas-

Both of the main characters are very trust worthy.
It is a reoccurring theme.
Hamlet trusts only one person, horatio.
Claudius and old king hamlet are brothers and well as scar and Mufasa are brothers
Nala is representative of both ophelia and horatio from hamlet, due to the fact that she is Simbas best friend and mate.
Nala helps Simba take back the pride land.
Simba trusts many people he trusts nala, timon and pumba.
Timon and pumba are not killed by Simba as are rosencrantz and guildenstern by hamlet. rosencrantz and guildenstern are untrustworthy 'friends' of hamlet.
Due to the fact that the lion king is a movie for a younger audience, timon and pumba are likely to be represented as very loyal friend of Simba, rather than spy's. (This helps promote the idea of friendship)
Hamlet trusts his mother to do the right thing regrading to her choices in relationships, how ever she betrays him. And now hamlet is questioning his relationship with his Mother, untrustworthy.
Scar uses Simbas Trust it betray him (kill him) (hyenas)
Scar manipulated Simba unto believing that he was responsible for his fathers death, resulting in this effecting in the rest of his
