Over the centuries, different civilizations used different documents to ensure peace, justice, and a false sense of equality amongst the people. These documents are part of what makes the civilization. Without them, there would be no governing statement. To say what can, and cannot be done. Hammurabi's Code is an example of one of those documents. It is actually one of the first documents of its kind and is one of the foundations for many documents in history,even in today's societies. An example is the United states Bill of rights, the Hammurabi's law code has been used as an influence, they share some interesting similarities, and some equally interesting differences. The Hammurabi's code law and Bill of rights today both punish for bad behavior. Another similarity is both United states and Hammurabi's code law punish unfairly. Both United States and Hammurabi's code take for granted the value of human's life. The Hammurabi's code law and human rights both do put people to death if they murder someone for example (3)”if anyone brings an accusation of any crime before the elders, and does not prove what he has charged, he shall, if it be a capital offense that would get the death
