Mosaic law was documented approximately 300 years after Hammurabi's code. The Hammurabi's Code is one of first written law record in earth history. With this in mind, in this essay, I will contrast the similar and the different cultures of the Babylonian and Hebrew civilizations through analyzing Hammurabi's Code and Mosaic law found in Leviticus 17-22 and Exodus 20-23. Base on my studies, I believe that the Babylonian laws are primarily covering the matters of administrative, civil, criminal issues, and economic to maintain orders. Whereas, the Hebraic laws were base on the worship of one true God throughout their life. Furthermore, I will also display how we could understand the cultures of Babylonian by the comparing the similarities and the differences between these two ancient legal documents. My first point is that Hammurabi's Code and Mosaic law cover numerous similarities. For example, both of them impose the death penalty for adultery(Exodus21:16; cf.
