There are hundreds of religions in the world with many different beliefs and practices. These religions are founded in many different places and have a diverse group of followers. However, all religions have an important impact on their society and practitioners. For example, two religions that are very different but have an important impact are Hinduism and Confucianism. Confucianism was founded in China during the time of the Warring States and spread throughout Asia before and after Confucius's death. Currently, Confucianism is a large religion in China, Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan. One teaching of Confucianism is the five relationships between living beings. These relationships are ruler to subjects, father to son, husband to wife, older brother to younger brother, and lastly, friend to friend. Currently, Hinduism is a large religion in Nepal, India, and Mauritius. One belief in Hinduism is that of Karma. This is the belief that if you do something bad, it will affect you in the future. Hindus believe in reincarnation so if you have bad karma or didn't follow rules from a previous life, your status will go down in the next. However, if you have good karma and followed all rules, you status will go up. This made people want to act well because they knew any bad or good deed they did would come back affect them in the future. Another thing about Hinduism is that they are polytheist which means they believe in countless gods and goddesses. However, Hindus also believe all of these gods are part of an overpowering god named Brahman or "the creator".
