“I Have a Dream” by Martin Luther King Junior is one of the most famous speeches given in a time of injustice and dissatisfaction. A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry isn’t the most famous play, but it describes the injustice and dissatisfaction for blacks. Both give a rundown of the discrimination, injustice, and the unhappiness among blacks. Martin Luther King Junior thoroughly talks about Negroes being discriminated against, and how one hundred years later, all of this is still happening (King 1). Alongside King, Hansberry hints at the discrimination the Younger family went through in their daily lives. But when things get rough, people still dream and hope for a better life. “I Have a Dream” considers that Negroes are discriminated and segregated against. He’ll walk up the steps while the gardener is doing his job, come inside as Ruth gives him a kiss, and go to see his son in his room (Hansberry 109).
