Immigrants have played a fundamental role in history for the cultural development of many countries. Words like “Globalization” have been coined because of the spread of different cultures throughout the world. However, how does a country have to behave when it faces people having different cultures? Which equilibrium has to be established between the two?
Most of the time, living in a country that works in a completely different way from the native one is an important challenge. Italy has been facing an epic immigration flow inadequately in terms of culture and legality. In a scenario like this, it is wise to consider the extremely huge cultural and religious diversity between the immigrants and the Italian citizens. Indeed, moving from a country practicing a different religion, or having the same state laws applying as the local religions, and settle in another country working differently, it can be a culture shock, which may lead people to have a negative impression of these different cultures. Furthermore, part of the people migrating to Italy comes from countries where there is no religious freedom; consequently, they often do not understand our values such as democracy, freedom of expression, and liberty.
