Healthy Living by Non-Actions

“You have everything you need for complete peace and total happiness right now.” -Wayne W. Dyer

Interbeing and Tao Te Ching are two beliefs that teach similar ideas, but just to two different kind of religious groups. These two books are an example about religion in general and how there may be two different groups of people that believe in different gods, but the teachings are all the same principle, just different stories. Interbeing, I believe is easier to understand and relate to, however it does have some more complicated situations, that our generation and society would be opposed to. In the Tao Te Ching, it is a little harder to wrap our brains around, however, it is more based on fate and letting …show more content…

An analogy would be if you have a lot of bills to pay, you have to work harder and longer to pay them off, which means there is less time to practice the way of interbeing. The part that our generation or society would have a problem would be that alcohol, drugs, any other toxins are bad and create a bad atmosphere. As you know, in our country, weed is being legalized in many states, alcohol is a stimulant and almost a necessity in our society, and toxins in general are almost everywhere we turn. These stood out to me because they relate to the Interbeing above and I agree with what they are saying and teaching. ‘Te’, which is virtue, is the moral behavior of someone and being able to rise over cravings. To be a nobleman according to the Tao, you must follow it and you need to have the strength to resist weakness. To resist weakness, you must in yourself and have ways to keep you out of the darkness and to stay in the Tao ways. Another virtue it teaches is following the natural way and being able to let go. The next teaching from the Tao Te Ching is We Wei, non-action. We Wei is knowledge of when to act and when not to act. Taoism teaches that most things in the world take care of themselves if we leave them alone. Sometimes if we interfere with issues before we give them a chance to work themselves out, then we can make the issues worse. However, if we do act, we need to do so cautiously. Taoism also teaches that the idea of society is one that accepts the fate of the world. Laozi says, “Whatever happens, happens. Simplicity, patience, compassion.
