The quote “Men to the left. Women to the right.” is from two stories so similar yet so different. The book Night by Elie Wiesel is a story about everything Elie went through during the holocaust. Elie was a young Jewish boy who was forced to be in the “ghettos” by Nazis during world war two. He and his family were deported to an unknown camp and separated. The Nazis gave little food and killed them for unreasonable circumstances. The movie Schindler’s List directed by Steven Spielberg is similar when it comes to the deaths of Jews. The difference is that Schindler was one of the people killing Jews. When he saw a certain red jacket it sparked something to change his mindset. People have different definitions but my definition is different traits that makes up a person and makes them unique. In the book Elie started off as a spirited boy who felt very strong about his religion and he would do anything for his family. Schindler starts as an unpromising adult who had a reputation for cheating and lying. Throughout these stories they end up kind switching places when it come to humanity. In these stories it takes a lot to survive for them. They have to make a lot of changes. Elie changes by slowly losing his humanity. The Nazis made him strip his clothing and shave his head. That’s what started dehumanizing him. Elie also started giving up on his religious beliefs. He started feeling as though god wasn’t there for him anymore. Schindler started gaining feelings and caring about the jews. He tried doing everything he could to save the Jews. He told Germans that the Jews were his workers so they let him take them to his factory. That’s how he kept them
