Coaching Dynamics For Success Many people don't realize it, but the rigorous coaching style of Herman Boone, as displayed in the award winning movie Remember the Titans, should be adopted into today's coaching methods. The movie portrayed how football teaches leadership, as well as, high standards for high school football players. Coach Boone begins by teaching the players to respect themselves by first dressing the part off the field, He made sure they each were properly dressed by wearing a dress coat and tie.

Both are exceptionally talented in their field, however Yoast feels his white players are superior to the black players, whereas Boone is devoted to putting aside the injustices regarding the different races, to lead the team to victory and teach valuable lessons to his players. The two butt heads due to racial prejudice when it comes to coaching styles and how to coach the team to victory.

His racial background influenced their decision trying to get black residents to see him as a symbol of pride and respect that lacks in their community.

The lessons cover ethical principles and aspects of responsibility, respect, caring, fairness, and trustworthiness. These styles are based on the film Remember the Titans.’ The backdrop in the film presents itself in football and racism which are the aspects that clash with the leadership styles. Coach Herman Boone’s leadership styles manifest themselves based on his upbringing which provides a tough exterior.
Denzel Washington who played Coach Boone leads the Titans to a successful football season by showing leadership and dedication towards his football players. The movie is about the path and mind of the football players as they are forced to play on an integrated football team. Both Civil Disobedience and the Gandhi article are alike based on the fact they both discuss civil disobedience, attending prison, and standing for one’s beliefs. Civil disobedience can be seen as a good thing and a bad thing depending on to what extent one is breaking the laws. Some people may break the law because they feel that it is unfair to them but others break the for the simple fact of doing what they want in order for it to benefit themselves. Laws are meant for the majority which means even if they are not pertaining to certain citizens. Thoreau targeted laws that pertained to him, Gandhi went on strike for the better of his country and people.
Afterwards, the team bonded, developed character, showed respect and acceptance of the coach, and a achieved a level of self-awareness to discipline themselves within. Coach Boone’s coaching style later changed to more of a Cooperative Style as the movie progressed as he continued pursing racial harmony within the community. Empathy Belly Project I underwent several discomforts and sensations while doing the empathy belly project. One of which was restricted breathing caused by the tightness of the belly which wasn’t enjoyable. Also the baby’s “feet” were sticking into my ribs, creating irritation when I walked or moved around a lot. I felt more fatigue with the belly on than I normally do since I exerted more energy trying to do everyday things thanks to the extra weight and figure. While buttoning my jacket and tying my shoes, I felt a little annoyed because it was more difficult to do than I thought it would be since I couldn’t look over my stomach.

Nevertheless, his efforts extended into the community partially eliminating the race tension. Coach Boone’s military style approach to leadership is grounded in the competency of promoting a congruent behavior. A fundamental component of military leaders is the leader character, “moral and ethical qualities that help one determine what is right and to do what is appropriate” (Shriberg, 2011, p. 228). There are seven principles that guide the military and Boone which helps him reach his ultimate goal of inclusion, not just winning football games.
At the start of the movie, when Herman Boone is hired to become the head coach of T.C. Williams replacing Bill Yoast. At first, Bill Yoast is extremely displeased and announces he will take another head coaching position. Players also disagree with the coaching change saying that they will boycott the team for the season, fearing that the players will lose their scholarships, Bill Yoast returns to the team, displaying role conflict. Primary groups in Remember the Titans, aren’t necessary easily profound in the beginning.
Civil Disobedience by Thoreau is the refusal to obey government demands or commands and nonresistance to consequent arrest and punishment this had an extreme effect on Martin Luther King Jr and Mahatma Gandhi. They were fighting for different beliefs. However they both had the same believes about civil disobedience and they both end in the same place, jail. In the first place Gandhi believed that the only way to confronted injustice was with non-violent methods.
Boone’s leadership throughout camp never waivers. He uses a series of skills to motivate the team and inspire the minds of his players.

(AUTHENTIC) One player who quickly emerges as a leader is Gerry Bertier; standing out for his personality and traits. He is team captain, passionate about everything he does and wants the best for not only the team as a whole but also the players as individuals.
