The definition of unconditional love is affection without any limitations, it can also be love without conditions. Most people might not believe in unconditional love, but in Romeo and Juliet's case, they might agree. Romeo and Juliet love each other unconditionally, so much so that they are willing to die for each other. Romeo and Juliet fell in love with each other at first sight. Even though some could say they are young and stupid, Juliet is a loyal and wise young lady who makes good choices. At the Capulet's party after sulking in the corner, Romeo says to Juliet, “If profane with my unworthiest hand This holy shrine, the gentle sin is this: My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand. When Juliet is on the balcony Romeo says “have night’s cloak to hide me from their eyes, And but thou love me, let them find me here. My life were better ended by their hate Than death proroguèd, wanting of thy love”(2.2.75-78). Hiding from their parents makes their love even stronger. Romeo would rather die than be without Juliet and having their families be even more angry. After Tybalt kills Benvolio, Romeo gets really mad because Benvolio was his best friend. When Romeo is sentenced to banishment he says,”That ‘banishèd,’ that one word “banishèd” Hath slain ten thousand Tybalts. Tybalt’s death was woe enough, if it had ended there. Or, if sour woe delights in fellowship And needly will be ranked with other griefs, Why followed not, when she said “Tybalt’s dead”(2.5.114-119). Romeo believes that banishment is the worst punishment because it takes him away from Juliet. The fact that Romeo and Juliet have to keep in touch without their parents getting a hint is astonishing. In the prologue it says,”A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life, Whose misadventured piteous overthrows Doth with their death bury their parents' strife.
