Have you ever wanted to have superpowers? To be able to fly, or have super strength? Or maybe to be able to grow bigger or smaller? In the books, Ms. Marvel and Superman Smashes the Klan the main characters Superman and Kamala are two very different people but they both face big problems and with the help of their friends they are able to solve them. Between the comics Ms. Marvel and SSTK, SSTK showed the theme you shouldn’t limit yourself to other people’s expectations.

One theme from SSTK that Superman showed was that you shouldn’t limit yourself to other people’s expectations. In SSTK, Superman brings Robera back to her house and Roberta realizes that Superman has been defying gravity and can fly even though he doesn’t show it. She tells Superman and says he is limiting himself. This shows that Superman is limiting himself because he is scared of what people will think if they see his real powers. He is scared they will see him as an alien. This is because people expect him to be a human who is very strong so he limits himself to those expectations like how Kamala limits the use of her powers because she is scared of what other people will think of her. …show more content…

At the beginning of the comic Kamala sneaks out of her room to go to the party that is in the park, after the party Kamala gets superpowers and saves Zoe from drowning. Later that night when she goes back home, her parents are mad and Kamala doesn’t tell them about the powers. This shows that Kamala is limiting her powers because she is trying to hide them from her parents and is scared of what they will say and what they will think.
