he Hunger Games, The Goonies are alike and different in their approach to the Hero's Journey. The Ordinary World, Call to Adventure, and the Refusal each have a number of these similarities and differences. Each illustrates how the hero's journey can be adapted in various texts and stories. In the Ordinary World part of the Hero's Journey there are similarities and differences. One difference is that Katniss had to take care of her mother and sister Prim and they barely had a ruff over their heads and Katniss had to hunt the food and cook it. Miky had all of it. He had a ruff over his head he got taken care of by his mom and brother brandon. Miky didn't have to hunt for his food; it was there from his mom. A similarity between the Hunger Games and Goonies is Katniss has Gale, Prim and her mom which is family to her.And in the Goonies Mikey has his mom, brother and his dad which is family. One more difference is Katniss didn't have a choice really and because she didn't want to lose her sister. And in the Goonies Mikey doesn't have to do much; he has all that he needs; he doesn't have to worry about losing anyone. …show more content…

One similarity between the Hunger Games and Goonies is Katniss had to step up for her sister Prim because her name got called. In the Goonies Mikey found a map and had to step up and try to get everyone to believe him. A difference is that in the Hunger Games Katniss didn't think about it; she just took Prim's place and in the Goonies they thought about it a lot before they decided. A difference in the Hunger Games is Katniss had no one but herself and Peeta. In the Goonies Miky had Mouth, Chunk, Data, Brandon, Andy and Steff. A similarity is in the Hunger Games Katniss was going to have to leave her home. In the Goonies Mikey also had to leave his home to go find the rich
