The Hunger Games and The Goonies are alike and different in the Hero’s Journey. Many times there are things partially the same and in times like the Call to Adventure, Test/Allies/Enemies, and the Approach where they can be connected in different ways even though they are different stories. The Call to Adventure in both books are very different. In The Goonies, they find one-eyed Willy's treasure map. In The Hunger Games, The Call to Adventure happens when Katniss’s sister, Prim's name is called in the lottery, and Katniss volunteers as tribute. They are different because The Hunger Games Call to Adventure is a lottery drawing in which she is not directly called, instead a person dear to her that she thinks can not survive the games gets called, her sister. But in The Goonies it is way different, unlike a person being called by random chance, The Goonies have to move because their home will be turned into a golf course. Then they find a map to Wild Willy's treasure in Mike’s attic and then they can stay together instead of being apart, spread out among the states. …show more content…
The Test/Allies/Enemies part of the Goonies includes a piano trap where you have to play the right chords. In the Hunger Games, the Test/Allies/Enemies part of the hero's journey includes a fireball trap that severely burns Katniss. They are the same because both Test/Allies/Enemies part of the hero's journey includes some kind of trap. In the Hunger Games, the fireball trap almost kills Katniss and she gets a severe burn on her leg, the trap required constant maneuverability making her move every second, or else she would die. The trap in The Goonies was much more relaxed at the beginning before the floor started to fall. It would not be as rushed though if the Fortellies were not after
