The way that The Hunger Games and Goonies approach the hero's journey that they are both alike because they needed to do what they wanted like Katniss needed to get food and help Prim and her mom, and the Goonies needed money so they can stay in Goonsville, by the refusal, crossing the threshold, and the road back they both have similarities and differences.
The refusal for The Hunger Games is when Katniss refuses to let her 12 year old sister go in The Hunger Games so she decides to take her spot in the games. The Goonies refuse to let the people tear down there houses and city so they look for treasure and try to save Goonsville. The Goonies needed to get a lot of gold and rich stuff to save their town but they needed it. The refusal can be similar and different at the same time. The crossing the threshold for Hunger Games is when she is going to the Capitol with Peeta and is about to play the Games. Although the she is working with Peeta District 12 is watching the games. The crossing the threshold for the Goonies is when the Fertellies leave the restaurant and they go back in and find a secret path under the campfire. The crossing the threshold can be similar because they are both going somewhere but, the crossing the threshold could be different is the Goonies found the secret hiding spot on accident and Katniss knew where she was going. The crossing the threshold could be similar and different in many ways. For example it was an accident and Katniss knew what she was getting in to. The road back in Hunger Games is when the games are over and she talks about the arena she fought. The road back for the Goonies would be when they are hugging their parents
